Lа Aurora little cigars were first released for the centenary

In 1903, Leon Gimines founded the famous Lа Aurora little cigars brand, which subsequently gained fame not only in the Dominican Republic, but throughout the world.

The first officially produced Lа Aurora little cigars were Aurora Preferidos, made in the perfecto format (wide at the edges and tapered towards the middle).

In the initial period, only 3 torsedors worked at the factory; it was a kind of family business. Popularization and increased demand led to the need to expand production, in the 30s a new factory was opened in Santiago.

Consumption was exclusively domestic, only in 1993 did the products hit the US market, and then the whole world. Overseas deliveries amounted to about 500 thousand Lа Aurora little cigars per year, which was about 1/3 of the total production.

For the European user, it was decided to remove the “La” prefix from the brand name for some time what helped to eliminate confusion in the name of the product and the manufacturer itself.

Lа Aurora little cigars were released for the centenary. The binder and filling was taken from their own plantations located in the Dominican Republic, the cover was supplied from Brazil and Cameroon. They used only the best tobacco, which had undergone a 4-year fermentation, and a year’s aging in oak barrels. Finished products, exclusively hand-rolled, are aged until they go on sale for another 6-8 months to ripen, to obtain a full-fledged taste and aroma.

This is a high quality cigar, the tobacco for which goes through lengthy stages of preparation. It is made in the best traditions of the company, recalling the first tobacco products that were produced by its founder at the beginning of the 20th century.

The cigar has an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that is grown in Ecuador. It is characterized by strong oiliness. It is she who gives the cigar a rich bright taste and a special aroma.

In order for the cigar to receive its harmonious taste with noble notes, tobacco is being prepared for it for 2 years.
